Smart marine engine monitoring and digital helm system for outboards and inboardsPrototype development

Bring tired analogue gauges up to date with a smart marine monitoring system.

LH Electronics is being built around a practical retrofit idea: clearer information, cleaner dashboards and easy-to-use smart features for outboard and inboard setups with basic sensor outputs. The aim is to modernise the helm without needing to replace the whole engine package.

One cleaner display

A clean digital dashboard brings GPS-based speed, RPM, fuel, engine temperature and clear warning/status lamps into one readable helm display. Trim angle can be added on Plus models and above where fitted.

Guided setup wizard

First-time setup is designed to walk through the key inputs, confirm live readings and reduce guesswork during installation.

Clear warning prompts

Instead of vague alerts, the dashboard is designed to show descriptive prompts such as low fuel, high engine temperature, 2-stroke oil low, low voltage, low oil pressure or sensor signal lost.

Open retrofit approach

Built for basic sensor outputs, not locked ecosystems.

Most marine systems are engine-specific, protocol-specific or tied to locked ecosystems. LH Electronics is being developed around a more practical retrofit idea: read the useful signals already available on many boats and turn them into clearer helm data, smarter warnings, easier setup and phone-accessible diagnostics.

OutboardsWhere suitable sensor outputs are available
InboardsDesigned around practical retrofit wiring
Older boatsModern monitoring without replacing the engine package

Works with almost any engine that has basic sensor outputs.

Fuel sender, temperature sender, tach/RPM signal and battery voltage inputs where fitted.
Configurable inputs planned for options such as 2-stroke oil low warning, oil pressure logging and trim angle on Plus models and above.
Setup from a phone helps confirm sender type, live readings and calibration without needing a laptop.

Available on supported models and where the relevant sensors or inputs are fitted.

Focused Limp Mode

Less clutter when something needs attention.

Focused Limp Mode is planned as a simplified emergency display for serious warning situations. It does not control or limit the engine. It removes distractions from the screen and keeps the key values visible at a glance so the driver can monitor the essentials more easily.

Active warning reason shown clearly.
Critical statistics grouped together on one screen.
Designed to help get home calmly, not to hide useful information.
